Robert Joyner Memorial Scholarship
The Robert Joyner Memorial scholarship was established to honor amazing Building Hope students who impact the lives of other young students. These students will exemplify the characteristics of Mr. Joyner who persevered through life's experiences and challenges.
Robert D. Joyner, age 50, was born October 2, 1967. He was a devoted husband, father and son. He grew up in a similar environment as most of the Building Hope students. Through all of the trials and tribulations he knew that there was more to life than what surrounded him.
He graduated from J.H. Rose High School in Greenville NC, and furthered his education by receiving a Phlebotomy Certificate. He was employed by UNC Rex Hospital as a Team Leader of Centralize Transport in Raleigh, NC. He was a diehard Carolina Basketball and Pittsburg Steelers fan. He was a Silver Chip Alumni of Healing Place of Wake County. He loved God and he loved his family and friends dearly. He was a kind-hearted man who would help anyone. He also enjoyed traveling, especially to the beach and the mountains.
On September 17, 2018, God sent forth an angel to escort Robert to his heavenly home while he was surrounded by his family.
