Project Bridges: Standing in the Gap Day Program

Project Bridges exists to reduce the suspension rate of elementary and middle school students in Pitt County. We provide elementary and middle school students with the necessary tools and skills to excel in their learning environment through academic assistance, service learning, and character development. Students will be equipped with the academic, social, and emotional skills to overcome the daily challenges and obstacles they encounter.

3 Key Components of Project Bridges

Academic Assistance

A certified teacher and staff provide academic support to ensure completion of all classwork and homework. We desire for students to grow academically and return to school confident in their work.

Service Learning

We teach students the multifaceted benefits of giving back to others which fosters compassion, empathy, and skill development. Thereby, helping students build their own self-esteem and self-confidence

Character Development

Staff work one on one with students to reflect on behavior, develop positive character, and create Individualized Success Plans to achieve academic and behavioral goals. Students will learn new coping mechanisms, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
